    • Jenn
Yes you can wear that brace during activity

    • I have a partial tear in the tendon on the left side of my ankle. Is it save to wear one of these braces while it heals, and then to help support the ankle afterwards?
    • This brace can be worn to protect the ankle from further injury as well as for injury prevention.

    • I have osteoarthritis in my lower leg/ankle due to a severe spiral leg break I had from a skiing accident 30 years ago. I am now suffering repercussions from this accident. My doctor has suggested a Gauntlet ankle brace. Can you suggest an ankle brace for me that you carry?
    • Gail
The closest thing to a Gaunlet ankle brace that we have is the DonJoy Velocity ankle brace.https://www.betterbraces.com.au/donjoy-velocity-ankle-brace It is the most supportive ankle brace that we make. It is a semi rigid plastic shell with hinge and foot plate that fits into the shoe. It comes in three support styles: Light, Moderate and Extra Support.

    • Hi. I have Charcot Arthrophy and have been using a CROW Boot for the past year and a half. I would like to transition to a regular shoe or work boot but still need the 360° support. Will this product provide enough rigid stabilization to protect my ankle?
    • Thank you for your question. The Procare Universal Ankle Brace Support will have rigid pieces on the sides giving support the lateral and medial aspects of the ankle. You will be able to maintain a normal gate with this brace. However is does not offer any additional support to the anterior or posterior aspects of the ankle.

    • Is the foot closure portion adjustable? Velcro or something?
    • Hello,

The foot strap is made of a stretchy spandex type of material, you slide it on like a sock. No Velcro, and its not adjustable. But it has alot of stretch.

      Thanks for Contacting Donjoy.

    • Can you wear cowboy boots with this brace. There lace up boots
    • Rich,
This brace is designed with the ability to be worn in a sneaker or tennis shoe. You It would probably fit in your boots however, it is rigid and if your boots are rigid as well, it may not be comfortable. The DonJoy Stabilizing (Speed) PRO Ankle brace is often worn by skiers and may be an option for you as well, as they fit in ski boots. Thank you for contacting DJO

    • I have recurring tibial posterior tendinitis as a result of having Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have a tall boot but it is too bulky for water exercise. Can I use this boot for water exercise?
    • Pat
Thank you for contacting product spupport. You can wear the ProCare Universal Ankle Brace Suppport in the pool, you just need to make sure that you rinse it off after using it to get the clorine out of it and let it air dry. Another option is the Aircast Air-Stirrup Ankle Brace, it only has cloth straps and heel pad everything else is plastic so dries easier. It does give the same support as the ProCare Brace. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

    • I have an unstable ankle but I would like to purchase a light but effective brace to fit inside a modified ski boot. My ankle bone in the medial side of the ankle has been protruding as the tendons get weaker and I need more support to hold it up. I will need to have my ski boots modified to fit an ankle brace. The goal is to find a comfortable brace that fits inside a ski boot and keeps my ankle from rolling inward and outward. I also need extra cushioning on the medial aspect of the ankle. what brace do you suggest.?
    • Carol,
You may find that the ProCare Universal Ankle Brace Support is too rigid to fit comfortably in your boot. Something like the ProCare Kallassy Ankle Support Brace or the DonJoy Stabilizing PRO Ankle Brace will offer you the support and stability you are looking for along with the ability to fit into your boot a little better. Also these two braces come in several sizes to make the fit a little more custom to you foot. Please let us know if you have any more questions. Thank you for contacting DJO.
  • Debbe at 20/07/2012 6:23 am
    • I broke my fibula and cracked my tibia 8 weeks ago. Thankfully, it wasn't bad enough to require surgery. I was put in a non-weight bearing cast for 4 weeks and have been in a cam walker for last 4 weeks. Yesterday, my doctor suggested purchasing a pair of high top hiking boots to provide ankle/leg support for another 4 weeks. However, that would be very costly. I'm wondering if this brace would give me the needed support and stability as I continue my recovery/rehab?
    • Debbe,
Thank you for contacting DJO Global. You should take a picture of this brace into your physician and ask if he thinks it would be ok for your injury.
  • Shauna at 20/04/2012 5:29 am
    • I sprained my ankle about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I was told it was a grade 2 sprain at least and I was put in a boot cast for the first 2 1/2 weeks and was told last friday to start using an air cast now. The ones through my insurace were to expensive and was told to see about getting one at a local drug store. I went and got one but my calves are large and the second strap would barely just not fit around my calf. Can you tell me if this brace would work for larger calves. I was also looking at the Aircast Airsport Ankle Brace as well cause it doesn't look like it goes as far up. Please let me know which one might be a better fit. I am hoping to use it long term for walking and other outdoor activites.
      Thanks :)
    • Shauna, we do make an air stirrup for bigger calves. However, you would need to call our corporate office directly to order it.

    • Is this brace meant to be worn while wearing your typical shoes? It is difficult to tell from the photos as it looks rather large. Thank you!
    • Hi Lynn,

Yes, this brace can be worn with typical athletic type shoes.
